Pancreatic pseudocyst

Pancreatic pseudocysts are a collection of fluid surrounding the pancreas, commonly seen in chronic pancreatitis patients compared to acute pancreatitis.

Symptoms

Abdominal pain
Jaundice
Vomiting
Fever, if there is infected pseudocyst
Bleeding cyst

Treatment

Asymptomatic cysts should be regularly monitored.

Cysts that reduce in size progressively, do not require any additional intervention.
Persisting enlarged pseudocysts should undergo endoscopy or EUS guided drainage.
Cysts difficult for endoscopic drainage require percutaneous drainage
