Pancreatic pseudocysts are a collection of fluid surrounding the pancreas, commonly seen in chronic pancreatitis patients compared to acute pancreatitis.
- Abdominal pain
- Fever, if there is infected pseudocyst
- Bleeding cyst
Asymptomatic cysts should be regularly monitored.
- Cysts that reduce in size progressively, do not require any additional intervention.
- Persisting enlarged pseudocysts should undergo endoscopy or EUS guided drainage.
- Cysts difficult for endoscopic drainage require percutaneous drainage
