Symptoms
- Diarrhoea
- Bloating
- Anaemia
- Stunted growth
- Amenorrhea
- Infertility
- Impotence
Diagnosis
- Serological testing
- IgA anti-tissue transglutaminase
- IgA antiendomysial antibodies
- Antigliadin antibodies
- UGI endoscopy and small intestinal biopsy demonstrates presence of villous atrophy
Treatment
- Withdrawal of gluten rich foods such as wheat, oat, barley, and rye from the diet
- Dietary supplements
- Steroids are helpful in critically ill patients
